Pros:
Easy install
Lightens the gun
Does not lock into the front of the handguard which to free float barrel
Improves balance and ergonomics

Cons:
Shortens sight radius.
Less real estate for gizmos and dohickeys.
Rail is not M1913 spec, like the SAR the center has been milled out, so potential issues with mounts not having the full lug.
Due to the front not being locked into the handguard there is a gap between the rail and handguard.
